Evelyn R. Thomas, MS, BSME, BA, EI

I am a 4th year Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. candidate at The Pennsylvania State University. I have had the pleasure of being the recipient of the 2023-2026 National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship among other honors. I earned an M.S. in Engineering Design from Penn State. During my four years at The University of Texas at Austin, I earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in History. 

My research is on the design of voxel-based multi-material additively manufactured thick-folding origami-based mechanisms. This is deeply related to my primary interests: holistic and interdisciplinary problem solving. Curiosity, community, and continuous improvement drive my curricular and extracurricular education.
